Winter Solstice 2021, December 21, 2021 at 0 degrees Capricorn at 7:59 AM PST/10:59 AM EST
Winter Solstice is the time of the year to go inward and rest. In the Northern Hemisphere it is the time of long, dark nights, cold temperatures, and time under the blankets with good books. Above the Equator, it is the time to do less and hibernate so that the body can heal and rejuvenate itself. The plants go dormant and the animals stay warm in their nests. This is your time to rest, too. Take advantage of my “Honoring the Sacred Season of Winter” now on sale through 12/31/21.
According to the Winter Solstice 2021 Chart, the Moon in Cancer is the pivot point for the next three months. The waning Cancer Moon is the remnant of the Full Moon in Gemini on December 18th. The Cancer Moon brings in the energy of the “Divine Mother” to support you in 2022. Guess what degree the next Full Moon is? Yes, you guessed it! On January 17, 2022, the Full Moon will be 27 degrees Cancer – exactly where it is now on Winter Solstice!
Return of the Divine Mother in 2022
The Winter Solstice Returning of the Light is actually bringing the return of the Mother Light into the world. Sitting exactly opposite Pluto’s return of the United States and Venus now in retrograde, this energy is powerful! Also, 2022 is bringing in the energy of the number “6”. The number 6 is likened to a pregnant mother and the energy is about nurturing, counseling, teaching, and comforting.
The Fixed Grand Cross being created by the Lunar Nodes and the Full Moon in Aquarius and Leo are ignited by the Pluto in Capricorn Return to the USA and Pluto’s partner at 27 degrees Cancer. The Moon takes up this mantle for 2022 appearing at the Winter Solstice to let you know what’s in store and where to turn to. Turn to the Divine Mother.
The Sabian Symbol for 27 degrees Cancer is the image of “A modern-day “Pocahontas”. Who was the real Pocahontas and what is her real story? The true story of Pocahontas is a tale of tragedy and heartbreak. My feeling is that the next layer of healing is coming from the Native people of Turtle Island. Read the more true version of Pocahontas life here.
I love seeing Climate Warrior and Land Protector model Quannah Chasinghorse on the cover of Vogue and Elle as a reemergence of Native People. The fashion world is touting the 18-year-old model as “redefining beauty” – so Venus! Learn more about Quannah and follow her on Instagram.
The original glyph for the astrological sign of Cancer is a turtle. Native people of North America, refer to this mother continent as Turtle Island. Upon the turtle’s back are 13 interconnected pieces that make her shell. This also coincides with Cancer’s ruling planet, the Moon, which has 13 cycles in one year. As the Lunar Nodes change, the past resurfaces. During the next 18 months, the past shadow patterns are symbolized by Cancer’s sister sign of Scorpio. Scorpio has the power to unearth what has been hidden, secrets, betrayals, and what is buried beneath the surface.
Go into “Soft Power” during this rebirthing season of Winter. You will come out as a warrior of Light in 2022!
