The Virgo New Moon appears nears the midpoint degree in the second decan of Virgo. This energy embodies the power of Capricorn to initiate a new cycle of creation. With the imagery of “a fine lace handkerchief”, the New Moon becomes a talisman from the Middle Ages. Knights and soldiers would carry something of beauty belonging to a woman in their lives. These fine talismans created a field of protection, prayer, and blessings. Handkerchiefs were also dropped to communicate that a woman was interested in a potential suitor as well. With the presence of Mars, this lunation speaks of having the courage to take a journey of self-respect, chivalry, and become more self-determined in this incarnation.
